Tip 1 - First impressions matter
You can have a hall of fame (not shame) with some FLA (focused loving attention)
Are guests met with: wellies, bags, umbrellas, mail, and half empty coffee mugs
Stand at your front door and observe - what does your hall communicate
This is where to start
Halls are a place to keep clutter-free and spacious
Tip 2 - Clear Floor Space
Relocate non-hall stuff if you can - sports equipment, bikes, and toys
That already feels spacious...
Sometimes just changing the colour of your rug and uplift your hall - I love the detail on this rug adding an extra rich depth
Freshen the hall with hiring a carpet cleaner, most supermarkets now hire them out for as long as you need.
Tip 3 – Hall-way-Small-way
When your hall is small - be ruthless with clutter - remove daily all junk mail and clutter stuff
Remove unnecessary furniture
Maximise the storage space you do have, eg
All in one convenience - coat rack stand with shoes storage bench. Super practical and not expensive
Tip 4–Bits and Bobs

Have a bowl to place trinkets: keys, sunglasses, phone, loose change etc
Hang a key holder - so many to choose from
Or a wood mounted sunglasses holder
Also a space to hang your reading
glasses especially if your like me and keep losing them.
Tip 5 –Hall Gear: Wellies, Shoes, coats, scarfs, and bags

All of these can accumulate into excess, these do need-a-sorting
Sort into: donate and keep &pack. Consider vacuum packing for out of season gear
Lots of choice of coat stands and shoe storage to match style, space and budget
Consider Shoe storage with a seat, super practical with dual functionality
Tip 6 - The Classic showpiece

If the entryway is quite dark - ensure adequate lighting
Adding small sections of textured glass to your front door lets in lots of light while maintaining your privacy
Changing paintwork to white or cream
The classic chandelier is a beautiful and elegant hall showpiece...enriching your hall, with an abundance of styles and designs to choose from and one to suit every budget
Tip 7 – Our beloved friend - halls with dogs
Invest in a dog storage basket for all the doggie stuff - to keep tidy and together.
Locate a suitable corner for the dog basket if placed in the hall.
Add a room fragrance to cover the doggie smells.
Tip 8 - Transform your hall

Mirrors always enrich spaces and enhance both functionality and aesthetics.
Improves the overall ambience and makes the hall feel more inviting and spacious
Spoilt for choice with so many shapes and sizes, you will fine one to elevate and compliment your hall
Tip 9 - Front Door Make-over
Boost your home's first impression
Hang a colourful planter to greet your guests
Consider changing paintwork to a warm bright colour
Consider hanging an outdoor wall lantern with sensor creating a warm glow
A new doorbell that doubles up as video camera for those online deliveries
And a brand new welcome door mat - and your hall has passed its MOT
Tip 10 – Finishing Touches - the best part
Add an aroma diffuser to scent the hall and greet your visitors
Or a large scented candle -nothing like a glowing flame
Treat the hall to a beautiful new vase with a bunch of flowers
With your hall transformed with some simple changes take a moment
to feel the space and appreciate your FLA in this area
