The Key Is - If you have strong resistance due to months of little or no housekeeping and maintenance - with mountains of unfiled paperwork as well as the clutter -do seek support otherwise you may delay longer. Please see my home office testimonials.

Tip 1 - Reclaim your office Space

Clock the mess, the clutter and the dis-organization. Clock the impression that gives out - from someone else viewing your current office space

Ask yourself; Does this space support my mood and my productivity?

A dishevelled and messy office is a real headache

Can you really think clearly surrounded in clutter?

There is no space for expansion in clutter; which provides the motivation and the immediacy

Tip 2 - 15 minutes

There are two approaches -you will know which one is right for you.

First Approach - start with small and achievable with a fast result.

Start with one area - You can do a lot in 15 minutes.

Every day you do 15 minutes - and clock the difference.

Deadline is one week (unless you have a big backlog of paperwork).

Second Approach - Dive straight in and remove everything

A fresh imprint with cleaning/hoovering before organizing everything back in

It doesn't have to be finished on that day. Deadline is a week

Just getting started is the main hurdle - which has a good-feel-factor & satisfying

Tip 3 – Small and achievable

Relocate non work items. This instantly creates breathing space in your office.

Does the carpet or the rug need replacing?

Clear the clutter from window ledges.

Attend to messy wall shelves, notice boards and miscellaneous objects.

Do the shredding.

Tip 4 – Filing Dread

Move past the resistance and simply begin.

Files/invoices/bills etc like to be filed. Easier to find. Order supports flow, efficiency and productivity.

Have a place for everything with clear labels.

Do you have efficient filing storage? If not see what suits your needs.

Divider folders are great for filing cabinets.

Have plenty of spare ones so you can file new categories of paperwork.

Tip 5 – The central point

Clock your desk – clock the mess and make a start.

Clean your desk, your keyboard and screen. Can buy special wipes for your screen and keyboard.

Does the desk need an upgrade - not always necessary.

A clear spacious desk feels and looks great and reflects an organised person.

Tip 6 - home Office upgrade

Remove/replace old furniture. Is it time for an upgrade?

How many hours in the office chair?

Are you fully comfortable in your chair - perhaps ask your back?

Ergonomic office chairs, with adjustable headrest and lumbar support.

A worthwhile investment don't you think?

Wrist support - An ergonomic mouse mat wrist support with massage design anybody?

Tip 7- My clutter free office

Sounds amazing - MY clutter free home office...

Daily housekeeping -take 5 mins to clean-up daily after logging off

Next morning when you enter your office your ready to go

Weekly clean-ups. Check the hot clutter zones; the in-tray and your desk

It can be effortless to maintain which essentially supports you to stay focused

Tip 8 – Well done

Hang a calendar and mark for the next 3 or 6 monthly office MOT

Appreciate your new office space

A space that now supports clear thinking, creativity and innovation

Win, win
